Chinese Smartphone maker Xiaomi has launched its much anticipated smartphone Mi 4i in India at a price-tag of Rs 12,999. Xiaomi launched this device at a press event in New Delhi.
Mi 4i spots a 5-inch full HD IPS display. Inside there is 1.7GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 octa-core 64-bit processor backed by 2GB RAM. Battery capacity is 3120 mAh.
When it comes camera part, its rear camera is of 13MP f2.0 with dual-tone LED flash. Front-facing camera is of 5MP f1.8. Internal storage is 16GB. It also supports 4G LTE connectivity and dual-SIM. The phone will available in 5 colors — black, white, orange, light blue and pink. Mi 4i will run on Android Lollipop with MIUI 6 over it.
Xiaomi Vice President Hugo Barra said “This is a flagship product that has drawn a lot of inspiration from India. A lot of tweaking has been done keeping in mind the Indian consumers and is made for India.”
Mi 4i will be first available in India. Customers can but it from e-commerce site Flipkart. Registration for first flash sale on April 30 has already started on Flipkart.
In coming months, the device will also become available at Snapdeal, Amazno and Airtel stores.
The device will not be launched in Mainland China but after India it will be soon avaible in Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia in May.
Xiaomi India also gave confirmation about opening a datacenter in India to address security concerns.
