Micromax is now largest mobile vendor in India. Micromax grabs no. 1 spot after beating Korean giant Samsung in India in Q2 2014. This has been made official by market research and consulting firm, CounterPoint Research.
According to report, In Q2, Micromax share in mobile handset market was 16.6%, while Samsung hold 14.4% of share. On other hand, Nokia was at third position with 10.0% of mobile market share. Karbon and Lava followed Nokia with 9.5% and 5.6% share, respectively.
Motorola is which is great hype these days, gained 4th position in this quarter surpassing Nokia. Motorola holds a 4.3 per cent market share in the April-June quarter. Samsung is still on top position in smartphone shipment with 25.3% of share in Q2. Micromax has also surpassed Nokia in feature phone market share with 15.2% while Nokia sets on 14.7% Micromax has surpassed Nokia for first time in that market.
CouterPoint Research said Motrola is gaining traction at a speedy rate in India with its great marketing strategy. Motorola sales its smartphone only through Flipkart.
